What Is The Queer Space?

As a long time member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I know how problematic it can be to find spaces in which our bodies are accepted. We don’t always find places that make us feel comfortable enough to allow ourselves to be the person we’d like to be.

The aim of The Queer Space is to give the Queer community a space to explore themselves physically and unapologetically. These classes are about celebrating our bodies and all that they are capable of.

While we’re still dealing with Covid-19 and lockdown situations I’m aiming to keep classes online.

We will be focusing on cardio health and strength. Everything can be modified to whatever level you are at.

Classes are offered individually on a sliding scale £5-10 depending on what you can afford. There are 3 membership options for those who want to attend more regularly, plus a couple of scholarship places available for anyone that needs them.

Here's What Some Class Attendees Have To Say...

I feel stronger and more confident as a direct result of the work we've done together. Highly recommend.

Annie is the best! She meets people where they are, there is no judgement, shame or toxic diet/health culture in any of her attitude. She was body positive, encouraging, pushed me just enough to reach my goals and checked in with me frequently about what those were.

Can't recommend Annie's fitness classes enough! It's making me feel strong and giving me more confidence, which is a great feeling!

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions always come up about events like this, and we want to save you some time by providing you with answers. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with further questions: annie@annieceleste.com

How much does it cost?

In order to keep it as accessible as possible I am charging on a sliding scale of £5/8/10.  There will also be a couple of scholarship places being held for anyone that needs them, if you would like to enquire about those please email me at annie@annieceleste.com.

Is there an age limit?

The minimum age for these classes is 18 but if you are younger than this and interested in a class, email annie@annieceleste.com. If there is demand for it, I will do my best to provide it.

How do I sign up for the class?

Just simply click on the button of the class you wish to attend, you will be asked to choose a date and then to make payment via PayPal.

Is it okay to attend with a history of trauma or other issues which might require me to leave the room during session?

Absolutely! My aim is to make you feel as safe as I can within this space. If, at any point you feel you need a moment, just take a minute to ground yourself, take breaks as and when you need to. This is about you reconnecting with your body in a way that helps you to feel strong, so take your time and do what feels good for you. Also there is no pressure to have your web camera on.

Do I have to have my camera on?

There is absolutely no pressure to have your web cam on during the class if you don’t want.  Just be aware that I will not be able to check your form during the exercises when it’s off.

Do I need to be 'fit' already?

Absolutely not! This space is about getting to know our bodies and exploring what they are capable of, no experience or fitness level required.

Do I have to take part in everything?

Absolutely not! If you need to take a minute or don’t feel comfortable with a particular move, then take a break, take a breath, a drink of water and come join in when you are ready. You do you, this is your space to explore that.

Can I bring a friend?

Of course! We are trying to build a community space, the more the merrier.

What should I bring?

Comfy clothes you can move about in, some water and a small towel.
